This is such a treasure trove book, discovering wild plants is amazing especially when you can eat them, I have tiny garden but I'm now encouraging chickweed and dandelions!!! I love a walk in the dunes picking gorse flowers, the smell of gorse on a hot sunny day is intoxicating, and now I can make a drink from it. Get this book and take it out on your walks, you'll be amazed.
Lovely book for anyone who has an interest in learning more about the plants and uses. The pictures bring descriptions to life and, at the same time, give you all the information necessary for how the different parts can be used.
I bought this book because I wanted to utilise the weeds that are growing my garden . I have less and less trust in the food in the supermarkets as you never know what they've been sprayed with . The book provides good photos of the plants and weeds that grow in the UK, good nutritional information and how the use the plant.I live in a semi rural area and look forward to using my book whilst on walks.

Really enjoying this! Robin did a great job with giving enough information for identification and general all round goodness! So glad humanity isn't doomed! Some people still have the knowledge and willingness to share it!

Got this nugget of knowledge recently. I had bought another book, but the photos, historic information and uses are far superior in this one and more UK based. I have just arrived at Cornwall for a short holiday and already found - mugwort, fat hen and an abundance of yarrow near the campsite!!! Can't wait to see what else I can find. LOVE IT!!!! ❤️
Great little book with plenty of pictures. I highly recommend it. Very handy and you learn all about the safe plants u can eat.

My grandma showed me what a battered leaf to put on my wounds... when I was 5 years old and playing outside. No kissing your knee better:) I found research backing her strange folky ways years after she was gone. The book is a bit like my grandma. I apprehensively ate the non-stinging nettles and the dandelions, and I was ok. I'm still alive... and will try more. The best bit was to go around the available space, find most of the plants, and realise that they had been eaten centuries ago. It enriches the connection to past people, culture, and nature... Thank you.
A great book..really pleased I bought it. It's clear, concise and informative. The photos make it very easy to identify plants, even for beginners like me. It's not so technical / detailed that you get bogged down in rhe scientific details either.. it's simple and straightforward A lovely purchase for me to own and to buy as a gift too. Can recommend
I've bought two of these books for foraging friends. As a non forager, I had a little look through and found the book really informative, I love the clear pictures and descriptions, it makes me feel good to know that this will make my friends foraging safer! I will now be purchasing a book for myself and another for my sister as I think she'll enjoy it as well. 10/10 would recommend 🪻🌻
This book is fascinating in that it not only identifies many of the wild plants that I see as a part of my role when canal lock keeping in remote rural areas, but gives a brilliant insight into their often overlooked uses. I also find the historical references really interesting. Altogether an amazing and interesting resource and well worth having. Thank you Robin .
This book is brilliant . So far I’ve made nettle soup . Chard salad with edible flowers . and found some sticky willy in my garden and a recipe for curry . It’s great to know what is in your own garden . Who knew the benefits of dandelion that’s my next mission when bee season is done to grab them out of the garden and cook something . Really impressed with the explanations of the weeds and the properties . Here’s to a healthier lifestyle thanks to this book

Great book. Not too overwhelming, a good number of pictures for identifying. As new to foraging this is the perfect start.
I am enjoying reading Edible and Medicinal Wild Plants of Britain and Ireland. The photos are clear and help me recognise( and safely pick up)the edible plants from my garden and the woods nearby. It will be my reference book from now on!
I've been looking for an easy to follow book like this for a while. Good quality photographs that make the plants easy to identify along with a full description. Useful information on food uses, nutritional benefits and safety tips too. I find the paragraphs on folk law and historical medical uses very interesting. I bought it for myself but it would make a thoughtful gift.
Fantastic book... good description on all the details of each plant ,where it is grown ,when ,what it can be used for etc ..with good photos to accompany each bio .As someone who prefers ALL natural medicines I'm so glad I Bought this book i think it's a wonderful book for any nature lovers too

I work as a bartender in a specialty cocktail bar. We have used wild botanicals to infuse with alcohol, make homemade syrups and beers. I have always however lacked exact information about these plants so this is a really great guide for more in depth knowledge of these wonderful plants we have in our doorstep

Accessible and very useful guide for this novice and cautious forager
I am a Herbalist and now moving into the realm of foraging and being at one with nature. This book has brilliantly clear photographs, excellent monographs, botanical descriptions, habitats, food uses, herbal uses and historical context and is exactly what I was looking for! I am also listen to his accompanying podcast @eatweeds.co.uk - which I would also highly recommend! Robin really is a gift to humanity and his book is a brilliant extension of him.
Absolutely brilliant book for identifying edible plants while wild camping. Other books only go for the more recognisable plants and come up with pretentious recipes for garnishes, rather than actual food. This is different. Love it!
What a great book. Memories of the plants we chewed on as children. Long forgotten. I got through the book in one sitting and can't wait until the warmer weather to check out the local foliage. I am also concerned as to the future of our planet, so this is may be an essential tool. Many thanks for the e-mails carrying more useful information.

A very well written book with great glossy photos of each plant showing each part of the plant in different stages of growth. Information on Family, when it flowers, habitat, parts used for food, medicine, herbal uses and safety notes. Even a section on the history of each plant. Lots of great, useful information all in one place.
My first foray into foraging. What a great way to get out and enjoy nature and connect more to our environment. Take the book with you and it’s like having a friend with you.

What a truly amazing book. I caught it by accident on an advert and I have recently been paying more interest in the wild and finding books regarding fishing and nature in charity shops, but this book is so interesting and informative. I take it out with me now all the time and use it in conjunction with an app until I become more knowledgeable. Really good purchase and definitely my favourite so far 👌
